DAY 1 - MONTREAL / UPPER LAURENTIANS
EVENING: RECEPTION AND WELCOME DINNER
Transfer from Montreal to Mekoos Outfitter, nestled in the heart of the boreal forest.
The Dumoulin family, your Quebecois hosts for the week, greet you with a welcome cocktail and a sumptuous buffet dinner. You will enjoy getting over your jet lag in your comfortable room at Mekoos Outfitter.

DAY 2 - UPPER LAURENTIANS
ACTIVITY: SNOWMOBILE TREK (145 KM)
After breakfast, it is time to pick up your snowmobile. After
your guide explains snowmobiling driving techniques and safety tips, you set out to discover the vast white wilderness in the most authentic snowmobile trek in Canada!
Your first destination is Scott Outfitter where Denis welcomes you for the midday meal.
The trek continues towards the vast territory of Notawissi. With a multitude of mountains, frozen lakes and evergreen trees as far as the eye can see, you will really have the feeling of being at the heart of the great Canadian open spaces. The width of the snowmobile trails allows you to appreciate the spectacular landscapes while you manoeuvre the various twists and turns. You reach the welcoming Notawissi Outfitter at the end of the day.
Regional 3-course dinner in the outfitter's dining room. This evening, around a cozy fireplace, with bright faces and shining eyes, immerse yourself in a fascinating culture as you listen to the captivating stories and legends of your guide.
DAY 3 - UPPER LAURENTIANS
ACTIVITIES: SNOWMOBILE TREK AND ICE FISHING (95 KM)
This morning, after leaving your stress far behind you, feel free to sleep in. After breakfast, you are invited for a spot of ice fishing, out on the great frozen lake in front of the outfitter. Snug in your temporary cabin on the lake, you will make a hole in the ice to cast your line and tickle the trout. If the fish are biting, you will savour your catch for lunch, lovingly prepared by the outfitter's chef.
And then you mount your snowmobile and you're off again! The pace set by your guide allows you to take some time to marvel over the views, which you can immortalize with the help of your camera (or video).
The adventure continues until you reach the extremely authentic Gatineau Outfitter, where Marc and Nathalie will welcome you for an excellent dinner of steak broiled over a wood fire.
Having refuelled, both in energy and gas, you set out for a nighttime snowmobile ride along the outfitter's winding trails. A truly magical experience! You return to Gatineau Outfitter for the night.
DAY 4 - UPPER LAURENTIANS
ACTIVITY: SNOWMOBILE TREK (150 KM)
After a hearty breakfast you resume the adventure along the Gatineau River at the reins of your iron horse, taking the time to stop at Serpent Falls and Caesar Falls, two of the region's magnificent attractions. The snowmobile is really the best way to explore this spectacular wild places. You will have lunch in a typical snowmobile rest stop.
After lunch, the route continues towards Fontbrune Outfitter, on the shores of Lac Piscatosine.
This evening, relax under the stars in the sauna and Jacuzzi and admire the view of the Milky Way. Or enjoy a drink at the bar as you swap stories with other local snowmobilers.
DAY 5 - UPPER LAURENTIANS
ACTIVITIES: SNOWMOBILE TREK AND SUGAR SHACK (160 KM)
Breakfast and then you set off for Montagne du Diable (Devil's Mountain), a must-see natural attraction in the Upper Laurentians. Its peak, at 783 m., offers breathtaking panoramic views of the entire region including the Baskatong Reservoir, a vast inland sea covering 320 square km.
For lunch, you will stop off at an authentic sugar shack for an experience that is quintessentially Canadian. On the menu:
crisp fried pork rind,
dumplings in maple syrup, etc. Folk music around the fireplace, a guided tour of the maple grove and then you are off again, to storm the wide open spaces.
You will be impressed by the quality of the backcountry trails as you head for Chute-St-Philippe, where one of the largest winter gathering places for deer in the region can be found. Get out your camera because you are almost certain to see several of these animals. But drive carefully: they could also stray onto the snowmobile trails. You return to the outfitter for dinner and a well-deserved night's sleep.
For your last evening in the North, nothing less than an excellent wild meat fondue for dinner, livened up with Quebec folk songs performed with pleasure by the outfitter's chansonnier. Watch out... you may enjoy yourself so much that you decide to cancel your return flight!

DAY 6 - UPPER LAURENTIANS / MONTREAL
ACTIVITIES: OFF-TRAIL SNOWMOBILE WITH A TRAPPER OR DOG SLEDDING
Today you can choose to do a fifth day of snowmobiling, or try your hand at driving a team of huskies. Or why not simply relax and enjoy your natural surroundings and the wide open spaces, unique in the world? After all, you are on holiday!

After many days filled with adventure and excitement, your guide will drive you back to civilisation. You reach Montreal at the end of the day. Dinner on your own and an evening off. Don't miss this opportunity to experience some Montreal nightlife in one of the city's many pubs, bars or discos.

DAY
7 - MONTREAL
ACTIVITIES: EXPLORE THE CITY & SHOPPING
Breakfast at your hotel. This morning you will take a tour of downtown Montreal accompanied by your "Authentik" guide. And then, you have the rest of the morning off to do the activity of your choice or
do some last-minute shopping in the downtown shopping malls, an impressive network comprising more than 2000 businesses of all kinds.
An excellent occasion to pick up some souvenirs for your loved ones back home.
You leave for the airport at the end of the afternoon and board your flight home, your heart full of lasting memories of your trek in the land of ice and
snow. |
