A Great Experience!

The trip was amazing! We saw grizzley bears and black bears. One day we saw 5 different blackbears!

We liked Knights Inlet the most. They teach their guests how to respect the animals that the land belongs to. The stay was well planned and kept us active with excursions that allowed to view animals.

The least liked was the accomodations at Hat Creek. The history and interpretors there were excellent. The people were very nice and friendly, so a visit there would be recomended, however, while the cabins appear to be newer the water cannot be consumed. They did provide 4 bottles of water that was appreciated! There were bugs in the bathtub which was an annoiance. In all fairness, the ranch appeared to be operating with a skeleton crew, and we were the only overnight occupants the night we stayed.

The most interestin overnight accomodations was the Ripley Creek Inn and restaurant in Stewart BC. Amazing job in building a very unique atmosphere.

The ferry from Port Hardy to Prince Rupert was very long. If I was informed of the Berths on the ferry, I was either not or did not understand the implications. We realized there were berths on the ferry late in the afternoon as people began to disappear. We were playing cards in an unused restaurant when the boat steward came by at around 8:30 pm and asked us how we liked the trip and I said it was long and had I known there were berths, I would have bought one. After a little more conversation, she said wait a minute and left. She came back with a key card to a room and said it was on her. What a great person to do that! We immediately went up and took a nap. The ferry was supposed to arrive just before midnight but did dock unti 1:00 AM. I would definitly make a berth an option going forward. Our discomfort was more then made up for during the trip to Stewart!
