Insurace included with Go West


  • Liability coverage of $5,000,000
  • Deductible of $1500. All coverage and waivers are subject to the express terms of the rental contract and of the applicable motor vehicle insurance contract.
  • Coverage for an accident on public roads (involving 2 vehicles), fire, theft, vandalism, windshield and windows.
  • A security deposit of $650 is required at vehicle pickup. Deposits are refundable when the motorhome is dropped off, provided that the unit is returned on time, undamaged, clean inside and outside, with all the equipment present, empty holding tanks and a full gas tank.


The customer will be responsible for the maximum charge as per the table below, $1500, where expenses include – but are not limited to – damage to the Go West vehicle, damage to third party property, injury claims, towing charges, storage fees, insurance adjuster fees and legal fees.

Any accident, damage to vehicle, vandalism, fire or theft, must be reported to Go West RV and  the Police within 24 hours of occurrence, otherwise the insurance becomes null and void.

* In the event of an accident, insurance coverage is voided by not reporting damage to Go West RV and the police, within 24hrs of an incident taking place.


RV Breakdown & Repairs
The client acknowledges the possibility of a mechanical failure or breakdown, and recognizes that such occurrence is an inherent risk associated with the operation of a recreational vehicle and beyond the control of Go West RV. The client agrees to hold Go West RV harmless from and against any loss of time, transportation costs, inconvenience, food loss in vehicle, and any and all expenses resulting from such failure or breakdown .

The Renter is responsible for the vehicle and will be charged for any misuse or undue care, mechanical damage due to negligence in vehicle operation or failure to provide normal maintenance, including checking engine oil, fluid and coolant levels at each refueling, and reporting mechanical failures or accidents immediately.  Repairs over $75 require prior authorization from Go West.  Insurance coverage is voided by not reporting damage to Go West RV, the police and ICBC within 24 hours of an incident taking place (as per the renter's handbook provided at departure).

Negligence / Willful damage ** Coverage Void

Damages caused as a result of people using the vehicle without permission (not registered on the rental agreement).

** Result of vehicle malfunction or damage consequent of deliberate and/or willful damage caused by an undetermined person or persons, and in accordance with the Rental Agreement signed by the renter.


RVs are not permitted on :

  • The Dempster Hwy
  • Inuvik
  • Northwest Territories
  • Mexico
  • Death Valley
  • California and Black Rock Desert (Burning Man).

Travel in Alaska and Yukon , on Cassiar or Alaska Hwy. permitted only with Northern Surcharge (conditions apply).  RVs are not permitted on roads designated on official provincial or state maps as ‘other roads – gravel or dirt'.

Failure to comply with these rules will void the insurance coverage and render the guest liable in case of theft and/or damages.
