Night in a Atikamekw village

Immerse yourself in an authentic, exotic Aboriginal experience, isolated in the heart of the forest. Get back to basics in an entirely rustic natural environment.

Your adventure will begin in the mid-afternoon. Arrival at Domaine Notcimik at 2:00 p.m., where you will meet your hosts, Alain and Madeleine.

They will take you on a tour of the site, introducing you to this territory that the Atikamekw people know so well.

After getting settled into your teepee, a variety of activities await: canoeing on the lake, a medicinal plant walk in the forest, blueberry picking, interpretation of flora and fauna, etc...

Follow your knowledgeable guides as they explain their ancestral fishing and hunting techniques, their culture, their history... You will discover another side of this wonderful, fascinating world!

At the end of the day, you will enjoy a traditional meal featuring wild game, fresh fish (catch of the day), bannock bread, vegetables, etc...

The evening promises interesting discussions, traditional stories and legends, stargazing by canoe, music and a campfire!

You will spend the night in a teepee. The site offers basic amenities: there are washroom facilities with showers and toilets at the reception pavilion, and bedding is provided.

The next morning, after a hearty breakfast with your Aboriginal hosts, it is already time to say goodbye.

One thing is certain: you won't quickly forget your stay at Domaine Notcimik, or your Atikamekws hosts!
