Welcome to Calgary, in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies.
Your chauffeur is waiting to drive you to your hotel****, conveniently located in downtown Calgary.
Be sure to take in the most interesting tourist attractions of Canada's cowboy capital: enjoy a spectacular 360° view of the city from the top of the Calgary Tower, do some shopping on 8th Avenue, visit Glenbow Museum to learn about the Aboriginal peoples and the colonization of the West, and take a stroll through the National Historical District of Stephen Avenue Walk.
You take possession of your rental car... and let the adventure begin!
You make a stop along the way for a sightseeing helicopter tour above the famous Rocky Mountains: an adventure to remember!
Your first destination is Lake Louise, "Jewel of the Canadian Rockies".
The spectacular scenery and icy blue green waters of this magnificent glacial lake will leave you speechless; it's easy to see why this is one of the most famous sights in the Canadian Rockies.
DAY 3 - Lake Louise
We recommend hiking to the Plain of Six Glaciers. This spectacular high mountain trail offers a series of glaciers, vaulting peaks and breathtaking high mountain vistas.Of course, a canoe ride on the emerald waters of Lake Louise is a classic activity for visitors to the region.
Other major attractions in the area include Moraine Lake and Yoho National Park.
This morning you set out for Jasper via the Icefields Parkway, considered to be one of the most beautiful roads in the world.
Along the way, in addition to the stunning views, you have a good chance of seeing several species of wildlife beside the road (black bears, grizzly bears, elk, mountain goats, moose and bighorn sheep), especially if you are travelling during the two hours after sunrise.
Plan to make a stop at Athabasca Glacier or the Sunwapta Falls and Canyon, a typical example of the geological formation known as a ''hanging valley''.
DAY 5 - Jasper
You have an entire day to spend in Jasper National Park, a UNESCO world heritage site.
Visit the most beautiful attractions, including the picturesque Maligne Lake and Spirit Island, the most photographed island in the world.
Take a hike along the spectacular trails of Maligne Canyon and Mount Edith Cavell. If you prefer, the Peyto Lake trail is an easy 15-minute walk leading to a lookout with a stunning view.
Return to Jasper to drop off your rental car. After exploring this charming village, take a taxi to your hotel for one last night in the heart of Jasper National Park.
This morning you get up at the crack of dawn and take a taxi to the central train station.
No driving for you today: you will be taking a scenic train ride on board the famous Rocky Mountaineer.
Prepare yourselves for a full day of breathtaking scenery! The train tracks pass close to the 91 metre high Pyramid Creek Falls, where the train will slow down to allow you to appreciate the magnificent view.
You will experience the many snow-covered peaks of the majestic Rockies, including Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies at a height of 3954 metres.
You reach Kamloops at the end of the day, where a shuttle is waiting to drive you to tonight's accommodation.
After breakfast, you are transported to the Kamloops train station, where the Rocky Mountaineer awaits for the next part of your unforgettable rail adventure.
A scenic train ride provides passengers with the opportunity to experience unique picture postcard vistas that would be otherwise inaccessible. In addition to the stunning scenery, you will have many chances to see wildlife.
Your spectacular train ride ends in Vancouver at the end of the afternoon.
A luxury car drives you to your hotel. You have the evening off in Vancouver, considered to be Canada's most beautiful city.
DAY 8 - Vancouver
Vancouver is a relatively small city that is best explored on foot.
Spend some time exploring the city's attractions such as Stanley Park and Gastown, and do some shopping on Robson Street and Broadway Avenue.
Don't miss a visit to the Vancouver Aquarium, which is home to a large number of marine mammals including dolphins, belugas, seals and sea otters.
This morning, after a short transfer by luxury car, you board a helicopter bound for the Discovery Islands, just off the north coast of Vancouver Island.
You will soar over spectacular landscapes and enjoy a birds-eye view of nature's handiwork.
For the next two nights, you will be staying at Sonora Resort, a luxury wilderness resort on a small island offering a pristine natural environment.
DAY 10 - Discovery Islands
Located between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific Ocean, Sonora Island is the ideal spot to get back in touch with Mother Nature!
The island offers countless outdoor activities.
Today you make your own program. You can choose between the following three activities: salmon fishing, a day of golf or grizzly bear watching.
A gourmet dinner and a peaceful night on your island paradise.
