Authentik Forest 2018

Forêt Authentik 2018In 2018, Authentik Canada committed to planting 1 tree for every trip sold, in order to reduce its ecological footprint.

The company is well aware that it takes much more than one tree to offset all of a traveller's CO2 emissions.

The Authentik Forest is more of a place to reflect on the impact we have on the environment and the steps we can take to reduce that impact.

The forest was planted on the property of Ferme 5 Étoiles in Sacré Coeur, Québec, close to Tadoussac.

Guests can visit the forest to see their tree and observe how they have, in their own way, contributed to protecting the environment.

Ecological footprint

Authentik ForêtEvery trip sold by Authentik Canada emits a certain quantity of CO2 (carbon dioxide) into the atmosphere.

Tourist activities such as driving a car or RV, snowmobiling or flying to Canada produce emissions of CO2, a greenhouse gas that is very harmful to the atmosphere.

Greenhouse gas emissions and their impact on global warming are now recognized as one of the greatest threats to our future.

Offsetting CO2 by planting trees

The forestry sector has an important role to play in mitigating climate change. Forests currently capture 25% of the CO2 produced by human activity.

This was one of the ideas behind the Authentik Forest project.
