Regarding the cities, our preference goes to Quebec, then Ottawa, Montreal, and finally Toronto.
Quebec is very touristy and human-sized, a truly beautiful city. A small downside on the soulless, very industrial hotel located in an average neighborhood, no restaurant, no shops. The hotel in Ottawa was great, very comfortable and in the city center. Toronto also in the city center but simpler. As for Montreal, the hotel is well placed but very noisy and a very minimalist breakfast for 23 dollars; we went outside the next day for breakfast.
Another small point to improve: the locaparc pack which contained a small blanket. It was 5 degrees, we were cold. The staff on site found us pure blankets for the second night, thanks for their kindness.
After the Auberge de la Bôme, very good, a trip back in time, the Beside habitat gîte in the Lanaudière region is exceptional.
As for the visits and excursions, it was superb.
The night with the wolves was magnificent, the safari with the bears likewise, the whale safari marvelous and extraordinary, the guided tours very, very good, special mention for Quebec and Montreal.
A small point of attention for the car rental pickup in Toronto, very mediocre, not the right car, lower model because the vehicles had not been returned and no accompaniment to the vehicle, so very mediocre at Thrifty Toronto. The travel times and activity schedules were perfectly adapted, allowing for a relaxed arrival. The stop at Beside Habitat allowed us to do laundry mid-trip. It's a shame that the weather conditions, with the maximum risk of forest fires, didn't allow for the BBQ evening, but that's how it goes. The private tour in Quebec City was TOP with the costumed guide and his story of being a descendant of the first migrants. The visit to Montreal was a bit more disorganized. For Niagara Falls, some rooms had views of the falls, but these weren't offered to us during the trip planning. We recommend the Journey Behind the Falls excursion, which gives close access to the falls. Finally, at the CN Tower, we ate at 360, which is ultimately a good deal because admission is included, making it a relatively inexpensive meal (so we paid for an extra visit). Staying at Omega Park is truly a wonderful experience, with the howling of wolves in the night. We managed to find a sugar shack offering a tour (even though it wasn't the season) on Île d'Orléans – a suggestion for future clients.
We will definitely return, but in winter for a different experience.
