Paradise
A true jewel of the park, this region lives up to its name with its flowery meadows in spring and spectacular panoramas of the summit of Mount Rainier. The Henry M. Jackson Visitor Center offers exhibits and information on hikes around the area.
Sunrise
At 1,950 meters in altitude, it is the highest point accessible by car. Numerous hiking trails start from here, offering breathtaking views of Mount Rainier, the glaciers, and the surrounding mountain ranges.
Grove of the Patriarchs
An accessible walk for everyone that leads to a magnificent old forest, where giant cedars and centuries-old firs rise to the sky. The trail includes a charming suspension bridge crossing the Ohanapecosh River.
Comet Falls
An intermediate hike leading to one of the park's highest waterfalls, with a 100-meter tall cascade. The trail passes through lush forests and follows a tumultuous river.
Myrtle Falls
One of the most photogenic spots in the park, this majestic waterfall is just 1.2 km from the Paradise Inn. The paved trail leading there is accessible and offers a spectacular view of the water cascading down a cliff with Mount Rainier as a backdrop.

MOUNT RAINIER NATIONAL PARK Access: From Seattle, it's about 1 hour 40 minutes by road to the Sunrise (northeast) entrance and 2 hours to the Nisqually (southwest) entrance. Season: The park is open year-round. However, in winter only the Nisqually entrance is accessible. The Carbon River (northwest) entrance is also open but limited to pedestrians and bicycles only.
