You only need to have a valid driver's license from your home country. However, you must have obtained this liscence12 months or more piror to your car hire and it must use the Latin alphabet.

Yes, you can cancel your car hire free of charge up to 2 working days before pick-up.

This cancellation insurance is included as a standard for all car rentals made on the Authentik Canada price comparison tool.

Of course, you can change your reservation (pick-up and drop-off date, type of car, etc.) under the same conditions, i.e. up to 48 working hours before pick-up.

Less than 48 hours before the pick-up, it is unfortunately not possible to cancel or modify your reservation.

Before deciding on a cheap car rental in Calgary, for say, make sure that the primary driver and additional driver(s) are all at least 21 years of age.

Also note that drivers must have at least one year of driving experience to hire a car for their Canada tours.

Drivers aged 21 to 24 will be subject to a higher deposit than drivers aged 25 and over. This deposit, retained on the primary driver's credit card upon pick-up, corresponds to the franchise to be paid in the event of an accident ($500 to $1,000).

When the vehicle is returned, the deposit will be released immediately and all confidential data and information related to the card will be destroyed.

In Canada, child car seats must meet the Canadian Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (CMVSS).

If your seat meets these standards, take it with you! It's free to bring with most airlines and your child will be comfortable in there, feeling right at home.

Otherwise, consider renting a child seat with your vehicle. This option will be payable in advance or on site, depending on the rental companies.
