Canada Road Trip
I booked a Ford Edge or equivalent but did not get this. The car initially supplied was not sufficient for four adults and cases. I was informed by AVIS that I had not asked for this as that was in the next higher group. I eventually got a car (Kia Stella) which was ok but baggage had to be placed on the rear seat as it wouldn't fit in the boot. The contract was in French so I had to take the word of the supplier as to what I was signing for. [...]
Very happy with Authentik Canada car rental
Just back from an amazing 3 week road trip of the west coast of Canada and we used Authentik Canada to book our car rental with Avis. The booking process, the instructions provided and the car rental all went very smoothly.
unexplained charges on credit card
nice car but credit card was charged twice without explanation and invoices.
A perfect road trip thanks to Thrifty
We had searched several sites for a rental car, but when we went to Authentik they provided a car through Thrifty. We got a larger, low mileage SUV as an upgrade, and it worked out very well on our 3,000 km trip through Quebec, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia. The SUV was fairly new and we had no issues on trip. Google searches helped me turn off an annoying alert system that vibrated in the driver's seat and also help connect my phone to the vehicle. It was two weeks of fun, so thank you!! [...]
Personal friendly service at Downtown pick up
Had a great experience with the staff at Downtown Halifax Avis pickup, friendly, relaxed and helpful. Had a great car at a good price and all inclusive.

From the original booking to the pre-rental follow-up and then the experience with the rental company itself, things could not have gone better.
Calgary to Vancouver road trip
We hired a rental car from Avis using Authentik as the agent. We picked the car up from Calgary airport and returned to Vancouver airport. I thought the rental was good value for money but the $300 one way charge was a bit excessive especially as we were returning a Vancouver rental car back from Calgary! As with all rentals the Insurance cover is somewhat baffling but I took out a policy for "pot hole, wrong fuel, lost keys etc" before I left the UK. The Avis desk will try and sell you add ons. Great Experience
Booking was smooth and user-friendly. Prior to my trip I had a question which was dealt with quickly and professionally.
No hidden costs - what we booked was what we paid.
I recommended Authentik to all my friends for bookings within Canada.

Great car with low kilometres. Drove well. Drop off was quick and easy but pick up took over an hour due to a long queue at the airport.

We hired a Nissan Rouge. Good touring car.
Still unsure whether if we had a problem would both Dollar and Hertz (the parent company) both respond, or just Dollar.
Pick up and return were both easy.
Good little runaround
The experience at Calgary airport not great, the queue was horrendous with only 2/3 desks open, we had pre registered but signage for this so bad we didn’t see until 45 mins had passed. Eventually found where we could collect the cat but still a lengthy process. Eventually on our way and the car was fine for what we needed
The return process taking times
So when I check out the car , Avis didn’t charge me for deposit , and when I return the car . It doesn’t show in their system so I have to go back to the counter and let them re-do the whole process. It took a lot of time and I have to rush and get on my flight
Avis Has to Improve.
Avis had a long lineup and seemed to take forever with each customer (while other companies there didn’t seem to have this issue).
There was a $300 drop-off charge although we were in Alberta and dropping off the car in BC which had BC licence plates. Why a charge when the car was going to be taken back to BC(?). Seems I was doing them a favour.
I was told that there would be a $13 per day charge to have my spouse put on an a second driver although the voucher clearly stated it was included. It took awhile to clear this up.
The car itself was satisfactory. Dropping it off was made easy.

Was unaware of this facilitator service originally but was referred to it by a friend living locally. Top notch service in terms of communication, action response and rental assistance. Needed to modify rental dates and Authentik immediately assisted with my request. The only negative point in our rental was the condition of the car at pickup. It was not a damage issue or anything but rather a lack of cleaning issue. The downtown Vancouver Avis location had their vehicles parked 7 levels down where washing was most likely impossible. The interior of the car was acceptable but exterior looked as though it hadn't been washed for a few rentals. I've never had this issue with other rental companies in the past and I hope Authentik could pass this on to Avis somehow. [...]

Car rental Montréal collect and drop Toronto
Pick up was easy to find despite airport roadwork! Super easy to take out extra insurance and helpful staff. Car was perfect for our needs we did around 3200km on our trip, comfortable and easy to drive. Drop off was simple well signposted and greeted by Staff where to park.
Reasonably priced car hire
Car was suitable for our needs, adaptive cruise control was a bonus. Unlimited mileage was great for the distance we travelled and the one way hire fitted our needs. Nothing to dislike.

Book far, far, ahead. The prices just keep going up.
All went smoothly with Avis. Car pick up was slow.
PEI tour
We had booked a midsize vehicle and were given a Nissan Kicks. It was very comfortable and had room in the hatch for our 4 carry-on sized bags and our numerous smaller bags. It handled very well and the cruise control was great.
Standard car - efficient and friendly service - expensive
We feel Authentik and/or National could have provided better directions to reach the rental location in Downtown Toronto.
The address leads to a building entrance, yet the rental office is a 10 minute walk away in another building at level -2 / National doesn't appear on signage - and in fact, there is no signage
We waited close to an hour in a parking lot. There are no chairs or nowhere clean to place the luggage while waiting.
Cars are driven inches away from people waiting.
The whole experience could be avoided with some warning and clearer directions from the agency and the car rental company

Good service, clean reliable new car.
VW Taos SUV, 5 passenger, one of which was a 4 year old in a booster seat; there was adequate room.
The boot held 2 large and 3 smaller suitcases plus 5 backpacks when packed strategically.
Adequate power for driving distances. Air con worked well.
